The Wind howled against the windows
creating soft sounds and anxiety
With the world at a halt
The men bickered over who was at fault
"Surely it wasn't me," the first man said
"I wanted to scare her and you hit her on the head."
fingers pointed and guns near drawn
No one could figure out who was really wrong
The next man, the dull man, tried to derail
"But you have killed before,"
He tried to Black mail
"I can't remember, was it your son or your wife?
Either way we know you took her life."
The third man, the gentle man, chest puffed and arms crossed
"It wasn't me, you know I am no brute,
You know I love all things in nature,
From the tops of the trees to their very roots."
The fourth man, the calm man, tried to reason
"No one saw us do, we're in the clear,
This whole thing will be over by this time next year
Act guilty and the verdict will follow,
If you make a promise, make sure it's hollow,
Stay calm, be weary and act scared,
For all they know, there's a murderer out there."
